The journey to Karigari by S

Despite my deep admiration for their creative talents, I initially pursued a career in teaching, a path I was truly passionate about. However, life had other plans in store for me. After marrying my husband Jag, who himself ran his own business, I found myself drawn to the idea of entrepreneurship. It was during a holiday in Dubai that the spark ignited. Finding a beautiful fabric in a local market, I expressed my desire for a bag made from it, to which Jag replied, "You can make that. In fact, you could turn it in to a business." And just like that I was captivated by the idea.
Upon returning home, I delved into creating my first few bags and shared them with my closest friends and family, receiving amazingly positive feedback. Yet despite this encouragement, fear and self doubt held me back from taking the leap into entrepreneurship.
However, life has a way of guiding us toward our true passions. After eight years of teaching and navigating the challenges of postnatal depression, I realised that I needed a new direction. Karigari became my beacon of hope, my newfound passion.
I pour my heart and soul into every bag, finding joy in the creative process, the problem-solving, and the continuous pursuit of learning and honing my skills. Drawing inspiration from my South Asian heritage, each piece is a testament to the beauty of tradition infused with a modern twist.
Thank you for joining me on this journey of creativity, craftsmanship and cultural celebration. Together let's embrace the artistry of Karigari.
with love,
